De Fabriek - The Factory - has been anchoring Enschede's skate scene since 2001, making it one of the eastern Netherlands' most established indoor parks. The warehouse space features a mix of street and transition elements, with a mini ramp, ledges, rails, flat bars, and a quarterpipe section. Enschede is the largest city in Twente, the eastern region of Overijssel that borders Germany, and the cross-border influence gives the city a slightly different flavor from the rest of the Netherlands. The University of Twente keeps the city young and dynamic, while the rebuilt city center - reconstructed after a devastating fireworks disaster in 2000 - shows the resilience of the community.
