About Burnside Skatepark
Named after the legendary Portland spot, Deventer's Burnside has been a fixture of the eastern Netherlands skate scene since 1999, making it one of the country's longest-running indoor parks. The warehouse space has evolved over the years, with the current layout featuring a mix of transition and street terrain - quarterpipes, a mini ramp, ledges, rails, and a manual pad section. Deventer is a beautifully preserved Hanseatic city with one of the best-maintained medieval centers in the Netherlands, complete with cobblestone streets, leaning timber-frame houses, and cozy cafes. The annual Dickens Festival transforms the city center into a Victorian wonderland every December. The park's longevity speaks to the dedication of its community, and weekend sessions often draw riders from across Overijssel and Gelderland. The station is walkable, putting the rest of the country within easy reach.
