About Penang Youth Park
Penang Youth Park is one of Malaysia's original skateparks, designed by Tim Altic and established around 2004 within the lush greenery of George Town's Municipal Park. Known as the OG of Penang's skate scene, the concrete park features pipes, ramps, bowls, rails, and a spine, highlighted by one of the biggest ramp walls in Penang - a massive structure built for high-speed runs and big-air tricks. The park includes various half-pipes, drops, flat rails, and spacious open areas suitable for learners, all decorated with graffiti art installations. Surrounded by tropical vegetation in the broader Youth Park complex, which also includes swimming facilities and a playground, this free park has served generations of Penang skaters as a landmark destination. Its proximity to George Town's world-class street food scene adds to the appeal for visiting riders.
