About Mont Kiara Skatepark
Mont Kiara Skatepark, now known as Kiara SkatePark, is one of Malaysia's only fully sheltered skateparks, allowing riders to session rain or shine at the Bukit Kiara Sports Complex. Originally designed by Tim Altic around 2004, the park closed in August 2019 and was completely renovated in partnership with the Youth and Sports Ministry, Vans Malaysia, and U Mobile, reopening in November 2021 with a fresh new look. The rebuild was executed by Kayuh BMX and The Ramp Master, who rebuilt the big ramp section, constructed a new roll-in for the box flow, created a wider quarter pipe, and refurbished existing ramps. The covered park features a healthy mix of bowls and street obstacles including ledges of various heights, a spine, quarter pipes, grind areas, stair sets, half pipes, and a box flow section. Skateboarding lessons are available through former national athletes. Tony Hawk visited and skated the park in 2014, and the venue continues to be a cornerstone of Kuala Lumpur's skating scene.
