Gurney Bay Skate Park is Penang's newest and most popular skateboarding destination, opened in February 2024 as part of the 24-hectare Gurney Bay waterfront development, a 221-million-ringgit project along Gurney Drive's coastline. The smooth concrete park features ramps, ledges, rails, bowls, vert ramps, quarter pipes, and carving areas designed for progression across all experience levels, from gentle slopes for beginners to advanced obstacles for seasoned riders. Open 24 hours a day with sensor lights that automatically illuminate at night, the park offers an exceptional oceanside setting with scenic views and sea breezes. The broader Phase 1 development includes a seafronting promenade, playground, kiosks, and abundant greenery with 1,500 trees and 10,000 shrubs.
