About Via San Calocero Skatepark
Albenga's skatepark serves this Ligurian town with one of the best-preserved medieval centers on the Italian Riviera - a remarkable cluster of brick towers and bishop's palaces. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, quarter pipes, and flat bars. Albenga was an important Roman and medieval town, and the baptistery with its 5th-century mosaic is one of the finest early Christian monuments in Italy. The surrounding Albenga plain - one of the few flat areas on the Ligurian coast - produces basil, artichokes, and cut flowers. The park draws riders from the Riviera di Ponente. The food is Ligurian - pesto (made with the local basil), focaccia, and farinata. The nearby Gallinara island nature reserve is visible offshore.
