Sesto San Giovanni's Spazio Arte skatepark serves this northern Milan suburb that was once Italy's most important industrial center - the Falck steelworks and Breda machinery factories made it the 'Stalingrad of Italy' for its working-class militancy. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, quarter pipes, and flat bars. The massive former factory sites are being transformed into new urban quarters, and the MIL museum of work and industry preserves the industrial heritage. The park draws riders from northern Milan. The M1 metro connects to the Duomo in about twenty minutes. The food is Milanese working-class - nervetti, cassoeula, and the cotoletta that fueled factory workers.
