About Sondrio Skatepark
Sondrio's skatepark serves this Alpine capital of the Valtellina - the long valley running east toward the Swiss border. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, quarter pipes, and flat bars. The Valtellina is famous for its wines - Nebbiolo grapes grown on dramatic terraced vineyards produce Sforzato, Inferno, and Sassella wines that rival the best of Piedmont. The valley's food tradition includes pizzoccheri (buckwheat pasta with cheese, potatoes, and cabbage), bresaola (air-dried beef), and sciatt (cheese fritters). The park draws riders from the valley. The surrounding mountains offer skiing at Bormio and hiking in the Stelvio National Park. The Stelvio Pass, with its 48 hairpin bends, is one of the most famous driving and cycling roads in the world.
