About Siena Skatepark
Siena's skatepark serves the city of the Palio - the famous bareback horse race held twice each summer in the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, one of Europe's most beautiful squares. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, quarter pipes, and flat bars. Siena is a Gothic jewel - the striped marble cathedral, the Palazzo Pubblico's Torre del Mangia, and the perfectly preserved medieval streets create a city of extraordinary beauty. The Palio isn't just a tourist spectacle - it's a deeply felt tradition that divides the city into seventeen rival contrade (neighborhoods) with fierce pride. Sienese food features pici (thick hand-rolled pasta), panforte, and ricciarelli almond cookies. The park is located outside the old walls and draws riders from across the Sienese countryside - the Chianti wine region begins just north. This is skating in the heart of Tuscany.
