About Piazza d'Armi Skatepark
Pinerolo's skatepark sits at the Piazza d'Armi in this Piedmontese town at the entrance to the Val Chisone, historically famous as a cavalry training center - the Italian cavalry school was based here. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, quarter pipes, and flat bars. Pinerolo was a Waldensian stronghold, and the Waldensian valleys stretching west represent one of the oldest Protestant communities in the world. The park draws riders from the southwestern Turin area. Turin is about forty minutes by train. The food is mountain Piedmontese - ravioles del plin, agnolotti, and local wines from the nearby Pinerolese hills. The Olympic skiing venues of Sestriere are up the valley.
