About Catania Skatepark
Catania's La Playa skatepark sits near the beach in Sicily's second-largest city, built from the black lava stone of nearby Mount Etna. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, quarter pipes, and flat bars. Catania has been destroyed by Etna's eruptions and earthquakes multiple times, most recently rebuilt in baroque style after the devastating 1693 quake. The result is a dramatically beautiful city - the black-and-white Piazza Duomo, the Via Etnea stretching toward the volcano, and the ancient Greek-Roman theater are all remarkable.
