About Thunder Park
In the Eddie Irvine Sports complex in Bangor - named after the Formula 1 driver from nearby Newtownards - Thunder Park brings indoor skating to County Down's largest town. The indoor facility features a mini ramp, quarter pipes, ledges, rails, and a flatground area. Bangor's seafront promenade, marina, and Victorian architecture make it one of Northern Ireland's most pleasant towns. The indoor park means skating continues regardless of the coastal weather, and the facility runs programs for all ages and skill levels. The Down coastline nearby offers stunning walks, and the town's restaurants and pubs are excellent. Entry fee required, but the year-round availability and the quality of the facility make it worthwhile.
