About Donabate Skatepark
Near the beautiful Newbridge Demesne park in north Dublin's Donabate peninsula, this skatepark serves a coastal community surrounded by water on three sides. The park features a mini ramp, quarter pipes, ledges, a flat rail, and a gap. Donabate's peninsula setting between the Rogerstown and Malahide estuaries provides a unique geography, and Newbridge House - a Georgian manor - is one of Dublin's finest heritage properties. The beaches at Donabate and Portrane are popular with surfers and swimmers. The village has retained its community character despite proximity to Dublin, and the skatepark is well-used by local teenagers. The DART extension will eventually improve rail access, but for now bus connections serve the community. The local pubs and restaurants have a genuine coastal-village atmosphere.
