About Szentendre Skatepark
In Hungary's most charming artists' town - where the Danube Bend's beauty has attracted painters for centuries - Szentendre's skatepark adds skateboard culture to the artistic tradition. The park features a mini ramp, quarter pipes, ledges, a flat rail, and a funbox. Szentendre's colorful baroque and Serbian-influenced architecture, narrow cobblestone streets, and numerous galleries make it one of Hungary's most visited towns. The Serbian Orthodox churches reflect the town's unique heritage as a settlement of Serbian refugees fleeing Ottoman rule. Local riders share their town with day-tripping tourists but maintain their own scene. The Danube flows past, and the island across the river offers swimming. Szentendre's restaurants and cafes are excellent - if slightly tourist-priced - and the local marzipan museum and open-air ethnographic museum (Skanzen) are unique attractions.
