About Sparti Skatepark
Sparti Skatepark is located in the Sainopouleio area of Sparti (Sparta), the legendary ancient warrior city in the Laconia region of the southern Peloponnese. Built in 2017, the park has street features in an outdoor setting. There's something surreal about skating in Sparta - the city that defined toughness in the ancient world now has a mellow, agricultural vibe surrounded by olive groves and orange orchards with the Taygetus mountain range towering behind. The modern city is small and laid-back, a far cry from its militaristic past. The skatepark serves the local youth in a city that's more about its history than its present-day size. The ancient ruins are scattered throughout the modern town, and the iconic statue of King Leonidas stands in the city center. The concrete is functional and the features work for all skill levels.
