About Orestiada Skatepark
Orestiada Skatepark is located in the Pine Grove Park in Orestiada, the northernmost city in Greece, right at the intersection of the Greek, Turkish, and Bulgarian borders in Thrace. Built in 2016, the park has street features in a shaded pine grove setting. Orestiada is as frontier as Greece gets - the Evros River forming the border with Turkey flows just east of the city. The area is agricultural and relatively remote, but the local community has a dedicated group of young skaters who make good use of the park. The pine trees provide essential shade during the hot continental summers, and the park area is a popular local hangout. Being at the tri-border point gives Orestiada a unique cultural mix, and the park serves as one of the few dedicated youth recreation facilities in the area.
