Karavola Skatepark is located on Leoforos Sofokli Venizelou in the Karavola area of Heraklion, the capital of Crete, Greece's largest island. Built in 2014, the park sits along the coastal road with views of the Cretan Sea. It's an outdoor concrete park with a solid selection of street features - ledges, flat bars, banks, and some transition elements. The sea breeze keeps things cool during the blazing Cretan summers, and the proximity to the waterfront makes for a beautiful skating backdrop. Heraklion's skate scene has grown steadily, and this park serves as the main hub for riders across the island. The surface is decent and the features are functional, though the sun and salt air do take their toll over time. There's a running path and beach nearby, and the Venetian fortress of Koules is visible along the harbor.
