About Ioannina Skatepark
Ioannina Skatepark is located on Karamanli Avenue in Ioannina, the capital of Epirus in northwestern Greece, a lakeside university city surrounded by mountains. Built in 2021, it's one of the newer parks in the country and reflects more modern design sensibilities. The layout includes a bowl section with good flow, street features like ledges and flat bars, and some banks and quarterpipes connecting different areas. The concrete is smooth and well-finished. Ioannina sits at about 500 meters elevation and gets actual winters with rain and even snow, so the skating season is more limited than the southern islands, but the park sees heavy use from spring through fall. The university population keeps the skate scene young and active. The park is near the lake and the city's famous castle, so there's no shortage of things to see nearby. Local skaters have embraced it as a real upgrade from the spots they used to session around the city.
