About Uusikaupunki Skatepark
Uusikaupunki Skatepark is on Koulukatu in Uusikaupunki ('New Town'), a Gulf of Bothnia coastal city where the Treaty of Nystad was signed in 1721, ending the Great Northern War between Sweden and Russia. The park has ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe. Uusikaupunki is home to the Valmet Automotive car factory, which assembles Mercedes-Benz vehicles, giving the small town an outsized industrial significance. The old wooden town center is charming, and the Bonk Museum - a unique satirical art museum about a fictional company - is one of Finland's quirkiest attractions.
