About Santasport Skatepark
Santasport Skatepark is at Hiihtomajantie near the Santasport sports institute in Rovaniemi, Lapland's capital. The park has ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe near the extensive sports facilities in the Ounasvaara hill area. Ounasvaara is Rovaniemi's outdoor recreation hub - ski slopes in winter, hiking trails in summer - and the Santasport institute is Finland's northernmost sports training center. The Ounasvaara hilltop offers views over the confluence of the Ounasjoki and Kemijoki rivers. This park adds a second skating option in the Arctic Circle capital, with the wilderness starting right at the edge of town. Reindeer sightings on the road in are not uncommon.
