About Rantasalmi Skatepark
Rantasalmi Skatepark is on Ohitustie in Rantasalmi, a small Lakeland municipality in South Savo between Mikkeli and Savonlinna. The park has ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe. Rantasalmi is deep in the Finnish lake district - water makes up a significant portion of the municipality's area, and the labyrinth of lakes, islands, and forests is Finland at its most pristine. Summer cottage culture is central to life here, and many residents fish, forage for berries and mushrooms, and sauna daily. The Linnansaari National Park - home to the rare Saimaa ringed seal - is nearby. Very basic services in the village, but the nature is extraordinary.
