About Lappeenranta Skatepark
Lappeenranta Skatepark is on Kimpisenkatu in Lappeenranta, a lakeside city on the shores of Finland's largest lake, Saimaa, near the Russian border. The park has ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe. Lappeenranta's sandcastle competition on the Linnoitus fortress beach is a summer highlight, and the Saimaa Canal connecting the lake to the Gulf of Finland has been an important trade route since the 1850s. The rare Saimaa ringed seal - one of the world's most endangered seals - lives in these waters.
