About Kärdla Skatepark
Kärdla's skatepark serves the capital of Hiiumaa, Estonia's second-largest island, known for its isolation, military heritage, and the meteorite crater that formed Kärdla's landscape 455 million years ago. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and flat bars. Hiiumaa's sparse population, Soviet-era military relics (the island hosted radar installations), and pristine nature create a frontier atmosphere. The island's lighthouse at Kõpu is one of the oldest continuously operating lighthouses in the world. The park draws riders from the small island community. The food is island fare - fresh fish, wild mushrooms, and the self-sufficient cooking of an isolated Baltic community.
