About Rijeka Skatepark
Rijeka Skatepark is located on Ulica Jože Vlahovića in Rijeka, Croatia's third-largest city and main port on the Kvarner Gulf. Built in 2014, the park serves the 2020 European Capital of Culture (postponed to 2021 due to COVID). Rijeka has a gritty, industrial port city charm that's very different from the polished tourist destinations further down the Dalmatian coast. The skatepark has a solid street section with ledges, flat bars, banks, and some transition features. The city's industrial heritage and working-class roots give it an authentic edge, and the skate scene here reflects that - no pretense, just skating. The Korzo pedestrian street in the center is lively with cafes and shops, and the Trsat Castle overlooking the city offers incredible views of the gulf and islands. Rijeka gets more rain than the southern Adriatic coast, so checking weather before heading out is smart, but when the sun's out, the setting is beautiful.
