Karlovac Skatepark is located on Ulica Ljudevita Gaja in Karlovac, the 'city on four rivers' halfway between Zagreb and the coast. Built in 2014, the park has street features with ledges, flat bars, banks, and quarterpipes. Karlovac was built as a Renaissance star-shaped fortress city, and that geometric layout is still visible from above. The city sits at the confluence of four rivers - the Kupa, Korana, Mrežnica, and Dobra - making it a center for river swimming and kayaking in summer. The famous Karlovačko beer is brewed here, and the annual beer festival is a major event. The skatepark serves a city that's found its identity as a recreational gateway to the coast, sitting right on the main highway from Zagreb to Split.
