About Los Lagos Skatepark
Los Lagos Skatepark is a 900-square-meter public skatepark inside the Polideportivo Los Lagos sports complex in San Francisco de Heredia. Opened on December 6, 2015, by the Heredia Municipality with an investment of 125 million colones (approximately $225,000 USD), it was the second skatepark built by the municipality following the Heredia Skate Plaza in 2014. The park covers three distinct skating zones designed to accommodate practically all skateboarding styles: a street section, transition ramps, and a large bowl. The ramps feature PRO Series construction with laser-fabricated technology and anti-vandalism systems. At its opening, it was described as "one of the largest public skateparks in Central America." The park is completely free and open to skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter riders, and roller skaters of all skill levels. It sits within the broader Polideportivo Los Lagos, with parking, tables, and lighting for evening sessions. The inaugural celebration featured professional skateboarding and cycling exhibitions alongside public competitions.
