About Heredia Province Skatepark
Heredia Skate Plaza is a 1,200-square-meter skatepark in San Francisco de Heredia, opened on November 7, 2014, by the Heredia Municipality with an investment of 140 million colones (approximately $260,000 USD). It was designed and equipped by American Ramp Company using their PRO Series modular steel ramps with MaxGrip coating on a concrete foundation. The park features quarter pipes, bank ramps, boxes, a pyramid section, ledges, flat and kinked grind rails, a mini quarter, a halfpipe, and what was announced as the first modular pump track in Latin America. The pump track accommodates skateboards, longboards, BMX, mountain bikes, stunt scooters, roller blades, and inline skates. This was the first of the Heredia Municipality's multi-community skatepark strategy, followed by Los Lagos Skatepark in December 2015, with plans for additional builds in Heredia Centro and San Jorge. The combination of concrete base with modular steel ramp elements is unusual for Costa Rica, where most parks are purely poured concrete. Free admission.
