About Asenovgrad Skatepark
Asenovgrad's skatepark serves this Plovdiv-province town at the entrance to the dramatic Rhodope Mountains - the 'European Amazon' - with the stunning Asen's Fortress perched on the cliff above the Asenitsa river gorge. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and flat bars. Asenovgrad is known as the 'City of Churches' for its concentration of Bulgarian Orthodox churches and the Bachkovo Monastery, one of the largest and most important in Bulgaria, just up the gorge. The park draws riders from the Plovdiv-Asenovgrad corridor. The food is Rhodopean - smoked meats, mountain cheese, patatnik potato dish, and the distinctive mountain cuisine of the Rhodopes.
