About Skatepark Ieper
Skatepark Ieper is a concrete park in the city known worldwide for its WWI battlefields and the Last Post ceremony. Built in 2016, the park features a bowl, ledges, and quarter pipes. Ypres was completely destroyed during World War I and rebuilt faithfully in the 1920s. The Menin Gate memorial hosts the Last Post ceremony every evening at 8pm, honoring the fallen. The In Flanders Fields Museum in the Cloth Hall tells the devastating story. Skating in this rebuilt city, where the Last Post still sounds nightly, is a deeply moving experience.
