About Skatepark Donauinsel
Skatepark Donauinsel is a concrete park on Vienna's famous Danube Island, a 21-kilometer artificial island between the Danube and the New Danube. Built in 2015, the park features a bowl, ledges, rails, and quarter pipes. The Donauinsel was created as flood protection in the 1970s and has become Vienna's premier outdoor recreation area. The annual Donauinselfest is one of the largest open-air music festivals in Europe. Swimming, cycling, and barbecuing fill the island in summer. Skating on the Danube with the Vienna skyline behind is a uniquely Viennese experience.
