# Rhode Island ranks No. 21 in the nation for public skateparks per resident, Skatedex finds

WARWICK, Sept. 16, 2026 -- Rhode Island has 0.90 public skateparks for every 100,000 residents, ranking No. 21 of 50 states in the 2026 Skateparks per Capita rankings released today by Skatedex, the largest skatepark directory on the web.

The rankings count 10 public, open skateparks in Rhode Island against the Census Bureau's latest population estimate of 1,114,521. That is above the national rate of 0.77 parks per 100,000 residents.

Within the state, the leading cities are Warwick (1.2 per 100,000), Providence (0.5 per 100,000).

Neighboring Connecticut, the highest-ranked state next door, is No. 18 with 1.14 parks per 100,000 residents.
