# North Dakota ranks No. 23 in the nation for public skateparks per resident, Skatedex finds

GRAND FORKS, Sept. 16, 2026 -- North Dakota has 0.88 public skateparks for every 100,000 residents, ranking No. 23 of 50 states in the 2026 Skateparks per Capita rankings released today by Skatedex, the largest skatepark directory on the web.

The rankings count 7 public, open skateparks in North Dakota against the Census Bureau's latest population estimate of 799,358. That is above the national rate of 0.77 parks per 100,000 residents.

Within the state, the leading cities are Grand Forks (1.7 per 100,000), Fargo (0.7 per 100,000).

Neighboring Montana, the highest-ranked state next door, is No. 2 with 3.49 parks per 100,000 residents.
