# Mississippi ranks No. 45 in the nation for public skateparks per resident, Skatedex finds

JACKSON, Sept. 16, 2026 -- Mississippi has 0.34 public skateparks for every 100,000 residents, ranking No. 45 of 50 states in the 2026 Skateparks per Capita rankings released today by Skatedex, the largest skatepark directory on the web.

The rankings count 10 public, open skateparks in Mississippi against the Census Bureau's latest population estimate of 2,954,160. That is below the national rate of 0.77 parks per 100,000 residents.

No Mississippi city of 50,000 or more residents has a public skatepark inside its limits.

Neighboring Arkansas, the highest-ranked state next door, is No. 30 with 0.74 parks per 100,000 residents.
