# Florida ranks No. 38 in the nation for public skateparks per resident, Skatedex finds

GAINESVILLE, Sept. 16, 2026 -- Florida has 0.48 public skateparks for every 100,000 residents, ranking No. 38 of 50 states in the 2026 Skateparks per Capita rankings released today by Skatedex, the largest skatepark directory on the web.

The rankings count 113 public, open skateparks in Florida against the Census Bureau's latest population estimate of 23,462,518. That is below the national rate of 0.77 parks per 100,000 residents.

Within the state, Gainesville leads its cities of 50,000 or more residents with 2.0 public skateparks per 100,000 people, followed by Boca Raton and Ocoee.

No neighboring state ranks higher: Georgia, the closest, is No. 44 with 0.35 parks per 100,000 residents.
